Buddhist Prophecy

The Kalachakra (Wheel of Time) teachings of Buddhism describe ‘Kalpa’ (era), which is (relatively) small cycle of time extending several centuries, similar to Yuga in Hindu traditions. According to the Maitreyavyankarna ("Prophecy of Maitreya"), the present era will end with severe geological catastrophes which will significantly change the face of the planet that a world leader can easily travel between countries. At that time, Buddha will incarnate as Lord Maitreya ("The Buddha Who Returns") who will teach dharma and help people to attain salvation.

A prophecy by Gautama Buddha in Chapter 26 of Digha Nikaya describes, “At that period, brethren, there will arise in the world an ‘exalted one’ named ‘Maitreya’, fully awakened, abounding in wisdom and goodness, happy, with knowledge of the worlds, unsurpassed as a guide to mortals willing to be led, a teacher for gods and men, an exalted one, a Buddha, even as I am now. He, by himself, will thoroughly know and see, as it were face to face, this universe, with its worlds of the spirits, its Brahmas and its Maras, and its world of recluses and Brahmins, of princes and peoples, even as I now, by myself, thoroughly know and see them”.

In the Surangama Sutra, Gautama Buddha told his disciple Sariputta of the signs that precede the end of the age: "After my decease, first will occur the five disappearances.   And what are the five disappearances?  The disappearance of attainments (to Nirvana), the disappearance of the method (inability to practice wisdom, insight and the four purities of moral habit), the disappearance of (spiritual) learning, the disappearance of the symbols (the outward forms, the robes and practices of Buddhism), the disappearance of the relics...”

"Then when the Dispensation of the perfect Buddha is 5,000 years old, the relics, not receiving reverence and honor will go to places where they can receive them... This, Sariputta, is called the disappearance of relics."

Buddha had previously promised that the Dharma would last for 5,000 years, which if broken down is really five periods of one thousand years, each period representing one of the five disappearances.  After the fifth period, that is five thousand years, the Dharma would disappear and the true message of Buddha would be lost.

However, Buddha contests that because he has allowed women to participate in the fullness of Buddhist life, he would halve the time until the Dharma's expiration from five periods of one-thousand years (5,000 years), to five periods of five-hundred years (2,500 years) which is described in a conversation with Ananda in Vinya Pitaka (II: 253).
"If, Ananda, women had not retired from the household life to the houseless one, under the doctrine and discipline announced by the Tathagata (another Buddha), Dharma would long endure; a thousand years would the good Dharma abide.  But since, Ananda, women have now retired from the household life to the houseless one, under the doctrine and the discipline announced by the Tathagata, not long Ananada, will Dharma endure; but five hundred years, Ananda, until the Dharma abide".

The Chinese Buddhist text Abhidharmakosha (4.12c. III. p. 41) affords a few more details about this prophecy: "The monks and stream-attainers will be strong in their union with Dharma for 500 years after the Blessed One's Parinirvana. In the second 500 years they will be strong in meditation. In the third period of 500 years they will be strong in erudition. In the fourth 500-year period they will only be occupied with gift-giving. The final or fifth period of 500 years will see only fighting and reproving among the monks and followers. The pure Dharma will then become invisible."

The advent of Maitreya will be after 2500 years from the dispensation (death) of Buddha (or the beginning of ‘Buddhist era’). One of the possible dates is 544 B.C., which suggests 1956 A.D. as the birth year of Maitreya. Another possible date is 483 B.C., which suggests the year 2017.

The ‘Buddhist scriptures’ by Edward Conze describes the birth of Maitreya as “The Lord replied, Maitreya, the best of men, will then leave the Tushita heavens, and go for his last rebirth.  As soon as he is born he will walk seven steps forward, and where he puts down his feet a jewel or a lotus will spring up.  He will raise his eyes to the ten directions, and will speak these words:  'This is my last birth.  There will be no rebirth after this one.  Never will I come back here, but, all pure, I shall in Nirvana.”

Nicholas Roerich, who traveled in Asia during the 1920s, transmitted this Tibetan prophecy of the end of the present era: "First will begin an unprecedented war of nations. Afterwards brother will rise against brother. Oceans of blood shall flow. And the people shall cease to understand one another. They shall forget the meaning of the word teacher. But just then shall the teachers appear and in all the corners of the world shall be heard the true teaching. To this word of truth shall the people be drawn, but those who are filled with darkness and ignorance shall set obstacles. As a diamond glows the light in the tower of the Lord of Shambhala. One stone on his ring is worth more than the entire world's treasure. Even those who by accident help the teachings of Shambhala will receive in return a hundredfold. Already many warriors of the truth are reincarnated. Only a few years shall elapse before everyone shall hear the mighty steps of the Lord of the New Era. And one can already perceive the unusual manifestations and encounter unusual people. Already they open the gates of knowledge and ripened fruits are falling from the trees."

"For 60,000 years Maitreya, the best of men, will preach the true Dharma, which is compassionate towards all living beings. And when he has disciplined in his true Dharma hundreds and hundreds of millions of living beings, then that leader will at last enter Nirvana. And after the great sage has entered Nirvana, his true Dharma still endured for another 10,000 years."

The Gautama Buddha explained Sariputta "At that time, the ocean will lose much of its water, and there will be much less of it than now. In consequence a world-ruler will have no difficulties in passing across it. India, this island of Jambu, will be quite flat everywhere, it will measure ten thousand leagues, and all men will have the privilege of living on it. It will have innumerable inhabitants, who will commit no crimes or evil deeds, but will take pleasure in doing good. Human beings are then without any blemishes, moral offenses are unknown among them, and they are full of zest and joy. Their bodies are very large and their skin has a fine hue. Their strength is quite extraordinary. Three kinds of illness only are known: people must relieve their bowels, they must eat, and they must get old.”

Sequence of incidents until the end of Kali Yuga

In Kalagnanam, many of the incidents were mentioned by Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swami with specific Telugu year names. As the years are not numeric and repeat after every 60 years, it is practically not possible to pin point the specific incident to a particular year. Although astronomical signs are mentioned for some incidents, they too are repetitive. Another problem is to match the numeric years of Kali Yuga with those of Christian calendar. The exact year on which the present Kali Yuga is not recorded, but some interpretations mention it to be 3104 BC. Still it is just an interpretation and cannot be relied upon. The prophecies of Kalagnanam also match with Kali Yuga to be started started somewhere close to 3000 BC. So, the year 3104 BC is considered to be the beginning of Kali Yuga for the interpretation of the incidents foretold in Kalagnanam. The following incidents are matched with the years of Kali Yuga and the Telugu years, and are organized sequentially.

1. Before I come back as 'Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya' many sinners would get wiped out of this earth. British rule in India from 1858 to 1947 is the peak of calamities. During this period, world has suffered severe calamities from Famines, Draughts, Floods, Cyclones, Earthquakes, World wars 1&2, partition of India etc. resulting in the large scale mass destruction. Along with sinners, many pious and saintly people were killed in the process.

2. In the year named 'Vishwavasu’ (1965-66), I would be born carrying a name 'Sri Veera bhoga vasantaraya’.

3. In the year named 'Pramadicha' (1973-74), I would become eight years old boy.

4. I would learn many Vidyas (arts/subjects) from Ashwatthama, Lord Dattatreya, Sri Sanaree Vishveshwara Swami, Sri Acharya Nagarjuna, Sri Swarna Amaralingeshwara Swami, and many other saints.

5. In the year named 'Durmati' (1981-82) by the 'Kartika Suddha Pournami' day (full moon day of November) I would become sixteen years old youngster and would be hailed by the name, 'Veerabhoga Vasantaraya'.

6. The Lord Kalki will wander over the planet without being seen by any living being. Then he will start his campaign in his thirty-second year (1996-97) and roam the earth for twenty years (until 2016-17). He will take with him a big army of horses, chariots, and elephants, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of spiritually purified brahmanas armed with weapons.

7. In the year named 'Vikrama' (2000-2001) on the 'Chaitra Suddha Dasami' (10th day of April's fortnight after the newmoon day) which would be a Wednesday, I would visit the hill named 'Indrakeeladri' (Vijayawada). There I would visit the saints present there and then I would learn few vidyas (arts) from Lord Dattatreya. Subsequently, I would come back to Sri Sailam and worship the Lord Malli-karjuna. After that I would move to Mahanandi village. On the 'Sravana SuddhaPournami day (full moon day in the month of august), I would reach a place called, 'Veeranarayana Puram'. I would spend one complete fortnight in that village.

8. From the year named Virodhi (2009-10), I would start my mission of 'Dushta Sikshana Shishta Rakshana’. From this year onwards Stars, Planets and Fate would work under my control. Destiny written by Brahma would no more remain functional, and people would have to face the fruits of their Karmas accordingly as per my desire. I would decide pleasures and pains of individuals based on their past deeds. In the year named Virodhi (2009-10), I would create a 'Shakti' in 'Lingalapeta' area. That 'Shakti' would be named 'Ankamma' and would come back to 'Nandikonda' after demolishing the southern regions.

9. In the year named ‘Nandana’ (2012-13), I would visit ‘Sri Sailam’ and worship Lord Mallikarjuna by following ‘Pasupata Diksha’. From Lord Shiva I would get a horse by name ‘Devadatta’, a parrot by name ‘Shuka’, a mighty sword named ‘Ratnamaru’, a celestial bow by name ‘Karmukam’, inexhaustible quiver by name ‘Akshaya Tooniram’ as boons from him. Again I would sit for penance in 'Sri Sailam'. But before I sit for my penance, there would be some calamities on Earth which would indicate about my presence to you.

10. In the year named 'Durmukhi' (2016-17), starting from the 'Kartika Suddha Chaturdasi' day (fourth day after new moon in the month of November), I would start eliminating all the sinners and that year onwards there would be many 'Mahapralayam' (cataclysms).

11. In the year named ‘Subhakriti’ (2022-23), in the month of November a 'Dhumaketu' (comet) would be sighted in the southern region, due to which innumerable lives would get destroyed.

12. In the year named Krodhi (2024-25), in the month of 'Margasira masam' (December) on the 'Suddha Panchami Somavaram' (fifth day after new moon day which falls on Monday) in the 'Karkataka Lagna' during Punarvasu 'Nakshatra' (rising sign cancer and star Punarvasu) when I would walk as 'Sri Veerabhoga Vasantaraya', some calamities would rise in south. This would be indicated by a new star in the sky.

13. In the sky a star would be seen as huge as a mountain. That is the star of ‘Yuga Parivartana’ (Change of Yuga). Many people would sight that star since its birth and would die. During such a time in order to protect the good people and to punish the evil people, I would come as Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya. But before that, all things would happen very fast at lightning speed within a minute.

14. When Surya (Sun) enters 'Meena Raasi' (moon sign - Pisces), I would come to Sri Sailam as Veerabhoga Vasantaraya holding a blazing sword of four feet in length. There I would distribute wealth to people of virtuous deeds.

15. In the year named ‘Parabhava’ (2026-27), I would gain some boons from Lord Mallikarjuna and would go to Vindhya Mountains to visit some 'Rishis' (saints). After accumulating the required boons and blessings, then finally I would be called as 'Kalki'.

16. In the year named ‘Plavanga’ (2027-28), Sun will appear as a ring.

17. Saturn will enter Gemini in the year Pramadicha (2033-34), during this year many sinners would be killed. Before the year Ananda (2034-35) comes, due to many strange diseases, calamities, volcanic eruptions, floods, fire rains, thunderbolts, poisonous gas leakages, landslides, mountain blasts, toxic fevers sinners would get erased out in multitude.

18. In the year named ‘Ananda’ (2034-35) on 'Margasira Bahula Ashtami Guruvaram' (eighth day after full moon day in the month of December which falls on Thursday), Lord Mallikarjuna and goddess Bhramarambika of 'Sri Sailam' would reach Vindhya Mountain.

19. In ‘Badarikashrama’ place, I would reveal my true form to the great sages of that place for their long awaited desire. Then I would come to ‘Nandikonda’ village, where I would teach the warrior skills.

20. King 'Chandragupta' (not the one of Magadha state) who had been cursed by his daughter (whom he tried to ravish not knowing that she was his daughter) to become a stone is living as a stone in Pataala Ganga. He would be freed from that curse by the touch of the feet of Lord 'Kalki'.

21. In the year named 'Kalayukti' (2038-39), a 'dhoomaketu' (comet) would be born which would be seen in 'Nandikonda' place and would vanish. From that place many 'Shaktis' would emerge. Many people would fall dead.

22. In the year named ‘Siddhardi’ (2039-40), massive earthquake would occur in ‘Addanki’ village. Mountains would collapse.

23. In the year named ‘Raudri’ (2040-41), stars (meteors) would fall on earth making terrible sounds. People would drink water in the caves of hills & mountains. (Perhaps due to huge meteors striking the surface of the earth, normal water bodies might evaporate. Perennial water sources and mountains might become the final refuge)

24. In the year named ‘Raktakshi’ (2044-45), I would get married. Kalki Purana states that Kalki would marry Padmavati from the region called, ‘Simhala’. The region Simhala could be ‘Vijayawada’ of Andhra Pradesh which is the abode of the Goddess Durga - the rider of Lion (Simha).

25. In the year named Raktakshi (2044-45) on Marga Suddha Saptami day (seventh day after new moon day in the month of Feb) in Chennapatnam town, in the home of a Brahmin a seven year old girl would give birth to a male child. That child would have four hands, three legs, one horn on his head. That child would live for 22 days and then on 23rd day he would die by forecasting that 'Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya Avatara' is coming with 32 medals having a Ratnamaru sword in his hands to protect pious and punish the sinners.

26. In ‘Kartika’ month (November) people would believe me and worship me as 'Veerabhoga Vasantaraya'. On the 'Kartika Suddha Dwadasi' day (twelfth day after new moon day in November) people would recognize me as the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and would develop devotion towards Vishnu. People would pray me with verses from sacred book 'Sama Veda'. Ignorant people wouldn't be able to know me.

27. In the year named ‘Bhava’ (2054-55), all rivers would get flooded. By Sravana (August), all villages, cities and towns would get wiped out due to terrific floods in rivers and oceans.
28. In the year named ‘Dhata’ (2056-57), there would be heavy sorrow spread everywhere. Due to troubles from various other countries and due to various calamities, people would die. On 'Marga Suddha Budhavaram' (Means Wednesday of February month in the fortnight between newmoon day to fullmoon day), eighteen cities would get demolished in the day time itself.

29. In the year named ‘Bahudhanya’ (2058-59), twenty five cities would get wiped out in bloodshed.

30. In the year named ‘Bahudhanya’ (2058-59), Kanaka Durga kind of ferocious Shaktis would start destruction of the evil ones. Goddess Kali would go to Karnataka. Goddess Durga would be sent to all Muslim countries. Bharata would be sent to 'Mahanandi'. Lord Nagendra would step on 'Kandanooru' place. Chakri would be sent to 'Morasa' state. Lord 'Arkhasoma' would be sent to northern countries. Goddess Kamakshi would be sent to western countries. These Gods and Goddesses would annihilate sinners on an astronomical range in their respective areas wherever they go.

31. From the year named ‘Eswara’ (2057-58) to ‘Vikrama (2060-61), seven villages would become one village. Seven houses would merge into one (only one-seventh of the population remains after large scale calamities).

32. From the year named ‘Bahudhanya’ (2058-59), next 14 years (until 2072-73) will have floods, draughts, calamities and suffering all over the earth. Most probably the third world war will happen during this period.

33. 'Sri Veereswara Swami' would hand over the Indian subcontinent to me (Veerabhoga Vasantaraya) and I would rule the country. Between the years named, ‘Nandana’ (2072-73) and ‘Srimukha’, I would rule the earth to keep up the righteousness and would eliminate all the evils.

34. The way 'Dharmaraja' and 'Sri Rama' ruled over the country with righteousness I would rule over this world with the same integrity and righteousness for one hundred and ninety five years. That's true!

Descriptions of Kalki from sacred texts

In Hinduism, Kalki (literally meaning ‘destroyer of filth/darkness/ignorance’) is the tenth and final incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu in the Kali Yuga, foretold to appear at the end of Kali Yuga to restore ‘Dharma’ on Earth and to lead the world into the ‘Krita Yuga’ (also called as ‘Satya Yuga’) where the society will be well-organized, systematic and peaceful. The minds of those who live at the end of Kali Yuga shall be awakened, and shall be as pellucid as crystal. The Dashavatara are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Venkateshwara and Kalki in the order of manifestation. Among all these avataras, Kalki is the most powerful and most fierce. It is said that he will have all the powers of all the previous avataras combined, as the forces of darkness is in its peak stage and darkness dwelling in the minds of all people. The Srimad-Bhagavatam describes the birth of Kalki as “Lord Kalki will appear in the home of the most eminent brahmana of Shambala village, the great souls Vishnuyasha and his wife, the pure of thought Sumati.”He will have ‘Yajnavalkya’ as his spiritual guru. Parashurama will teach him warfare and weaponry, and also instruct him in the performance of a severe penance in order to receive celestial weaponry.

The Bhagavata Purana states “At the end of Kali Yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so called saints and respectable gentlemen, and when the power of government is transferred to the hands of ministers elected from the evil men, and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser.” The arrival of Kalki is described as “The ascetic prince, Lord Kalki, the Lord of the Universe, will mount his swift white horse Devadatta and, sword in hand, travel over the earth exhibiting his eight mystic opulences and eight special qualities of Godhead. Displaying his unequaled effulgence and riding with great speed, he will kill the millions of those thieves who have dared dress as kings.” Padma will be his consort as written in Kalki Purana. Padma is an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Sri Maha Vishnu. It is said that Padma lives at an island named as ‘Simhala’.

The signs of birth of Kalki as described in Kalki Purana are “The moon will be in Dhanishta nakshatra (Aquarius), suggesting that he will be wealthy, acclaimed and swift in action and thought. The Sun will be in Swati, the nakshatra of the sword. Jupiter will be in Purva Ashada nakshatra (Sagittarius). The ascendant Lord will also be in Purva Ashada nakshatra (Sagittarius), suggesting invincibility and early victory. Saturn will be exalted in Libra, predicting a balance between justice and the sword. Ketu, lord of horse headed Ashwini, will be exalted in Scorpio, suggesting that he will descend atop a great white steed.” The Bhavishya Purana foretells: “The savior of the entire universe, Sri Maha Vishnu will be born on Margashira Month, Krishna Ashtami, 8th day after the full moon day.”

Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swami in his Kalagnanam foretold that at the end of Kali Yuga, he would arrive as ‘Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya’ and would later become famous by the name ‘Kalki’. He explained the indications of his arrival along with the course of events to take place subsequently. He said that he would arrive as Lord Kalki when the Sun, moon, Venus and Jupiter enter the same sign. He would worship Lord Mallikarjuna (A manifestation of Lord Shiva) of Sri Sailam with ‘Pasupata Diksha’ (also called as Viraja Diksha). He would get a horse by name ‘Devadatta’, a parrot by name ‘Shuka’, a mighty sword named ‘Ratnamaru’, a celestial bow by name ‘Karmukam’, inexhaustible quiver by name ‘Akshaya Tooniram’ as boons from Lord Shiva. Again he would sit for penance in 'Sri Sailam'.

The Linga Purana, the Brahmanda Purana and the Vayu Purana give additional information about Lord Kalki. The Lord Kalki will wander over the planet without being seen by any living being. Then he will start his campaign in his thirty-second year and roam the earth for twenty years. He will take with him a big army of horses, chariots, and elephants, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of spiritually purified brahmanas armed with weapons. Though they may try to do battle with him, he will kill all heretics (and false prophets) and wicked, mleccha kings. When he fulfils his avatara dharma (duties of the manifestation), he will allow only a few people to remain spread over the planet who are purified by thought, and act as seeds for the generations to come that would live in the Satya Yuga. The Saptaishis (the seven sages) then return to the earthly dimension from a higher dimension, and teach the people about the spiritual life, vedic knowledge and varnashrama dharma, and will classify the society into a four-fold varna system. Then people flourish into the Satya Yuga, perform sacred rites and live peacefully.

Arrival of Kalki as Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya described in Kalagnanam

Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swami in his Kalagnanam foretold that at the end of Kali Yuga, he would arrive as ‘Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya’ and would later become famous by the name ‘Kalki’. He explained the indications of his arrival along with the course of events to take place subsequently. As some of the points are directly translated from Kalagnanam, the use of 'I' and 'My' is a reference to Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swami or Lord Kalki. All these incidents will be discussed in detail in subsequent post.

1. Before I come back as 'Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya' many sinners would get wiped out of this earth.

2. In 'Banaganapalle' village, the tamarind tree which took birth on top of my Kalagnanam pot would bloom Jasmine flowers.

3. By the time I arrive again on this earth, one miracle would be seen. I would protect the people who would recognize that strange happening as the symbol of my arrival and act virtuously thereafter.

4. Miracles of Sun would be visible to people. Sun would look in yellowish hue and in human form. Sun would seem to be shaking. All such strange things would be seen before the arrival of 'Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya'.

5. Lord Mallikarjuna of Sri Sailam would appear in person and would forecast to everyone that 'Sri Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya' would come. That time a rainfall of blood would happen. In villages, towns, and rivers, rainfall of blood would be seen. In such villages Goddess Lakshmi would cry.

6. 'Amrutam' (Ambrosia) would emerge out from ocean.

7. Many rulers would lose their positions and would become smashed.

8. Papaghni Mutt would become highly developed.

9. Red ant would be seen of the size of an elephant.

10. In Ahobilam village temple, Jasmine flowers would bloom from the pillar made of iron.

11. The indication of my arrival is the time when 'Kandimallaiyya palle' would become a big city and there would be a 'Mandapam' (altar) build with Navaratnas (nine kinds of gems). That small village would become so elegant that it would seem like a second Kailasa.

12. In the sky a star would be seen as huge as a mountain. That is the star of 'Yuga Parivartana (Yuga change)'. Many people would sight that star since its birth and would die. During such a time in order to protect the good people and to punish the evil people I would come as Veera Bhoga Vasantaraya. But before that, all things would happen very fast at lightning speed within a minute.

13. Like this many would die due to many such disasters. But stay firm in your belief in god and you would remain protected. With fear in heart, one can't find the Brahmam. With unshaken devotion only one can find the Supreme Being within oneself.

14. In the year named 'Vishwavasu’, I would be born carrying a name 'Sri Veera bhoga vasantaraya’. I would learn many Vidyas (arts/subjects) from Ashwatthama, Lord Dattatreya, Sri Sanaree Vishveshwara Swami, Sri Acharya Nagarjuna, Sri Swarna Amaralingeshwara Swami, and many other saints.

15. In the year named 'Pramadicha', I would become eight years old boy.

16. In the year named 'Durmati' by the 'Kartika Suddha Pournami' day (full moon day of November) I would become sixteen years old youngster and would be hailed by the name, 'Veerabhoga Vasantaraya' and would later become famous by name - 'Kalki'. I would protect the virtuous people and take care of them as my children. I would punish the sinners for their evils.

17. In the year named 'Nandana' I would visit 'Sri Sailam', I would worship Lord 'Mallikarjuna' by following 'Pasupata Diksha (also called as Viraja Diksha). From Lord Shiva I would get a horse by name 'Devadatta', a parrot by name 'Shuka, a mighty sword named 'Ratnamaru, a celestial bow by name 'Karmukam, 'Akshaya Tooniram (inexhaustible quiver), as boons from him. Again I would sit for penance in 'Sri Sailam'. But before I sit for my penance, there would be some calamities on Earth which would indicate about my presence to you. In the year named 'Nandana' innumerable stars would fall on the earth erasing many lives from the surface.

18. In the year named Krodhi, in the month of 'Margasira masam' (December) on the 'Suddha Panchami Somavaram' (fifth day after new moon day which falls on Monday) in the 'Karkataka Lagna' during Punarvasu 'Nakshatra' (rising sign cancer and star Punarvasu) when I would walk as 'Sri Veerabhoga Vasantaraya', some calamities would rise in south. This would be indicated by a new star in the sky.

19. In the year named 'Parabhava', I would gain some boons from Lord 'Mallikarjuna' and would go to 'Vindhya' mountains to visit some 'Rishis' (saints). After accumulating the required boons and blessings, then finally I would be called as 'Kalki'.

20. In the year named 'Raktakshi', Kalki would get married.

21. From the year named Virodhi, I would start my mission of 'Dushta Sikshana Shishta Rakshana’. From this year onwards Stars, Planets and Fate would work under my control. Destiny written by Brahma would no more remain functional, and people would have to face the fruits of their Karmas accordingly as per my desire. I would decide pleasures and pains of individuals based on their past deeds.

22. In the year named 'Durmukhi' starting from the 'Kartika Sudhdha Chaturdashi' day (fourteenth day after new moon in the month of November), I would start eliminating all the sinners and that year onwards there would be many 'Mahapralayam' (cataclysms).

23. In 'Badarikashrama' place, I would reveal my true form to the great sages of that place for their long awaited desire. Then I would come to 'Nandi-konda' village, where I would teach the warrior skills.

24. My devotees would keep looking for me to come. They need not have to fear, there won’t be any harm to them. One who chants my Dvadasakshari Maha Mantram (Mantra of twelve letters) 12000 times with full devotion, I would get pleased with him, protect him as a father, would give all happiness in this world and also permanent peace after death. Whosoever reads, hears, or recites my Kalagnanam regularly would enjoy all good things in their lives as well as they would get liberation after their life.

25. Few of my devotees would establish 'Dharma' (righteousness) within the limits of their capabilities and make pavement for me to carry that further. I would rule the countries and establish 'Dharma'. Subsequently, the entire world would once again walk on the path of righteousness, truthfulness, love and spirituality.

27. To someone by name 'Vidyaranya Swami', 'Pratibimbasukayogi' would be born. 'Sri Veereswara Swami' would hand over the Indian subcontinent to me (Veerabhoga Vasantaraya) and I would rule the country.

28. The way 'Dharmaraja' and 'Sri Rama' ruled over the country with righteousness I would rule over this world with the same integrity and righteousness for one hundred and ninety five years. That's true!

Calamities foretold in Kalagnanam

The prophecies about calamities in Kalagnanam of Sri Veera Brahmendra Swami are listed below:

1. A pig would appear in a Masjid (mosque) and would spark communal wars among Muslims. That pig would enter into others' houses and people would try to catch it for killing. But it would keep escaping from their hands and bring the chasing men to the banks of Krishna river near Vijayawada. There that pig would vanish at a flash and that would kill hundreds of Muslims who witness that incident.

2. A hundred feet high heap of Beatles would be formed. Kalagyana was written in two forms, 'Vachana Kalagyanam (textual verses)' and 'Padya Kalagyanam (poetic styled verses)'. Beatles are small bugs, if they are assumed to pile up forming a heap of 100 feet height, then that perhaps is a poetic expression to say the no. of deaths is uncountable.
