About Kalagnanam of Sri Potuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy

The prognostication of future events had considerable influence on the history of mankind. Although some prophecies are never known to the world, some draw considerable attention, particularly when any of the events happen. Prophesies of Nostradamus, Oracular statements from Delphi, the Ragnarok of the Norse mythology, Scivias of Saint Hildegard von Bingen etc. are well known. Prophecies are sometimes given out as revelations found in a trance-state and sometimes as answers mysteriously suggesting themselves to one while one is sleeping. There are such prophecies in India which are not widely publicized or are almost forgotten, as the country is an amalgamation of various languages and cultures. ‘Bhavishya Purana’ is the only well known work among them. Next to ‘Bhavishya Purana’, Kalagnanam (Kalagyana or Kalajnana) of Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy (also called as Brahmam garu) is a prophecy known for its accuracy and detailed description of events.
Kalagnanam, literally meaning 'Knowledge of Time' was written by Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy, who lived in 17th century in India, and went in Sajeeva Samadhi at Kandimallayapalle in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Kalagnanam was written in Telugu Language and 'Sandra Sindhu Veda' on palm leaves. Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy's predictions and ballads are in the oral tradition being sung by wandering minstrels. Most of his predictions have come true and rest is yet to come true. It is stated that Kalagnanam of the entire World (Mahakalagnanam) contains 332,000 volumes. A small part of Kalagnanam is available in Brahmamgari Matham at Kandimallayapalle, Siddhayyagari Matham at Mudumala, Rangarajugari Matham at Nagaripadu, and the remaining major part is hidden in the inner pit of Banaganapalle Mutt under tamarind sprout which has grown into a big tree now. In every village and town of Andhra Pradesh, and in some parts of South India, we find a shrine in the name of 'Brahmamgari gudi' and we don't find a single person in Andhra Pradesh, who does not mention Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy's name and his Kalagnanam, at least once in his lifetime. His predictions are happening at many places in and around the country, and the people ignorant of Kalagnanam are surprised with some of them.
Many of the events of Kalagnanam including the advent of british rule in India, freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, first and second world wars, monarchy being replaced by democracy, ruling of Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, P. V. Narasimha Rao and cinema actors, widow remarriages, invention of automobiles and hydro-electric power, religious conversions, terrorist attacks, communal riots, Bhopal gas tragedy, many of the earthquakes, cyclones and droughts, villages turning into cities, education becoming a business, increase in lust, greed and laziness etc. Some of his predictions are yet to happen, which are mostly calamities indicating the end of kaliyuga. He has also foretold about the third world war, Bangladesh and Nellore getting submerged, meteor showers and many more catastrophic incidents.
Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy wrote in his Kalagnanam that he was incarnation of Lord Vishnu and would come again as Lord Kalki/Lord Veera Bhoga Vasantha Raaya to restore dharma and peace on the earth.
